Posting your Device

1. Get your device ready

Before you think about posting, spend a couple of minutes preparing your device. Back up anything important like photos, contacts and messages, then sign out of any accounts (iCloud/Find My iPhone or Google/Find My Device). Once that’s done, perform a factory reset so your personal data is removed. This makes the phone easier for us to test, helps protect your privacy and speeds up your payment once it arrives at FoneBucks.

2. Choose the postage option that suits you

When you place your order, you’ll be asked how you want to send your device. Our Free Post Tracked Service includes secure packaging sent the same day, plus tracking and insurance up to £100 with delivery in 1–3 working days. Prefer to get moving straight away? Pick Print a Free Label Tracked Service, use your own packaging and drop it at the Post Office with the same cover and delivery time. For higher-value devices, we recommend Special Delivery – you pay for this service at the counter, but it gives next-working-day delivery and covers up to £500.

3. Packing your device securely

Good packaging protects your device and helps avoid any delays. If you’ve chosen our Free Post pack, simply follow the instructions inside – place your phone in the inner sleeve, add the protective padding and seal the box. Using your own materials? Pick a strong box, wrap the device in bubble wrap and make sure it can’t move around. Pop your delivery note or a piece of paper with your name and order number inside. There’s no need to send chargers, boxes or accessories unless we’ve specifically asked for them.

4. Dropping it off and getting tracking

Once your parcel is packed and labelled, take it to your local Post Office. Hand it over at the counter so the barcode can be scanned and your tracking activated. You’ll be given a receipt with a tracking number – keep this safe until your order is complete. You can use that number on the Royal Mail website to see when your device has been delivered to FoneBucks. Whether you choose Free Post, Free Tracked Label or Special Delivery, your parcel will be fully trackable from drop-off to our door.

5. After you’ve posted your device

As soon as your tracking shows delivered, our team will get to work. We log your parcel, carefully unpack and visually inspect your device, then carry out a quick test to confirm the condition you selected online. If everything matches, we approve your order and send your payment the same day by your chosen method. If we need to adjust your quote, we’ll email you a revised offer so you can decide whether to accept or have your device returned. Throughout the process, we keep you updated, so you always know where your tech – and your money – is.
